FAQ

Residential Solar, your questions

How much can solar actually save me each month?
It depends on the system size and weather conditions. The calculator on this site ports our real quotation model. Put in your monthly bill and it shows the recommended system, the estimated monthly and yearly saving, and the payback period. The figures are confirmed at a free site inspection.
What is the NEM subsidy and do I qualify?
NEM (Net Energy Metering) lets you offset your bill with the power your roof exports, and eligible Sarawak homes can receive a government subsidy of up to RM12,000 towards the system. We check your eligibility and handle the application as part of the job, so you do not chase the paperwork yourself. Your NEM contract needs to be signed by 31 December 2026 to qualify.
How long does installation take?
Installation itself is about 3 days once the design and NEM approval are in place, though the full programme from site survey to your NEM subsidy landing runs about 2.5 months end to end, most of it waiting on approvals rather than work on your roof. We confirm the schedule in writing before we start.
What panels and inverter do you use?
Astronergy N-type TOPCon panels (the solar arm of Chint Group), Tier-1 bankable with a 15-year product warranty, a 30-year power warranty and 87.4% output guaranteed at year 30. Paired with a GoodWe inverter, a publicly-listed Tier-1 global brand, sized single or three phase to your supply. The exact panel count and inverter size are chosen from your usage. The calculator shows both, and they are confirmed at the site inspection.
Will solar work on my roof?
Most tiled and metal roofs in Kuching are suitable. Orientation, shading and roof condition all matter, which is exactly what the free site inspection checks before anything is quoted or ordered.
Do I need a battery?
No. Sarawak’s NEM programme does not allow systems with battery storage to qualify for the subsidy. Instead, the grid works as your battery: everything your panels produce by day flows out and banks against your account, and you draw it back at night. That is also why the system stays simpler and the subsidy stays available.
